Tocar Strategic Advisors is seeking a detail-oriented Analyst to support our consultancy’s research and reporting across the functional ingredients, cannabis, and wellness product sectors. The role combines data analysis, market research, and strategic report writing.
You’ll work directly with the company directors to extract insights from global market data, synthesize research findings, and build polished client deliverables. This is a remote role suited to someone with both analytical rigour and strong written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities


Analyse category and brand data across multiple markets (e.g. UK, EU, US, Canada).


Conduct desk research on product launches, regulatory developments, and market trends.


Create quantitative and qualitative insights that feed into client reports and strategy documents.


Collate, clean, and structure data from multiple sources (market databases, press releases, industry publications).


Write concise, visually structured reports and PowerPoint decks summarizing market activity.


Support the buildout of an internal product and ingredient tracking database.


Work with external data providers to extract and format data for Tocar’s macro reports.


Requirements


2–4 years’ experience in market research, analytics, or consulting (FMCG, functional ingredients, or wellness experience ideal).


Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills; comfort with data manipulation and trend identification.


Excellent written English; ability to translate data into narrative insights.


Competence with PowerPoint or Google Slides for visual presentation of findings.


Curiosity about wellness innovation, functional ingredients, or emerging markets.


Proactive, self-directed, comfortable working remotely and managing deadlines.


Preferred (Nice to Have)


Exposure to market or category reporting in consumer goods.


Familiarity with Airtable, Notion, or data visualisation tools.


Intermediate-level data handling (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, or SQL familiarity).

If so, I'd love to talk to you. I'm Erez, and I run ZSA. We make nice keyboards (the ErgoDox EZ, Moonlander, and Voyager) and we've got lots of ideas. We're also passionate about open-source and have been contributing to the QMK open-source keyboard project for many years, and have open-sourced other work as well.
We're small, bootstrapped, and fully remote. We're a company of grownups — no invasive monitoring, and meetings only as needed, no exhausting daily video standups. 
We do use a kanban system and create detailed work items, so requirements are not going to shift under your feet. We also listen to what you think. Our process is collaborative, and the right person for this role will have a big impact on our small business, and possibly on the keyboard community far outside of ZSA as well.

Deep experience with time-series analysis, probability, statistics, and machine learning methods.
